Abstract
The contribution by Benjamin Davy, Agnes Förster and Edward Shepherd sheds light on normative conflicts and the foundations of spatial planning in theories and practice. Here, the challenge of theorising lies in moving beyond individual moral-ethical positions. Instead of just referring to one set of individual planning ethics, the authors engage to reflect fundamentally on how planners can make clashing normative values visible and negotiable. Therefore, it might be necessary to engage more in techniques of normative pluralism to improve their reflections on the norms and values, as these guide everybody’s practices and deep-rooted assumptions.
