Abstract

This chapter reviews and synthesizes the information concerning the long-term exposure practice in marine environments. To this purpose, the information for the exposure sites and information for the exposure operations are described on the basis of the state-of-the-art practice. Particularly, the sampling and test methods are compared among the different operators of exposure sites. The dispersion and statistical nature of the obtained long-term exposure data are analyzed using engineering statistics. On this basis, a standard format of information presentation for exposure data is proposed, and the generated database is presented in its present version.
