Abstract
In the recent past, epidemic disruptions have been known to have affected several industry sectors, with the automotive industry being no exception in facing the adverse impact. The automotive industry remained at the receiving end of the COVID-19 turmoil while being a witness and victim to widespread manufacturing component shortages during the aftermath, resulting in larger lead times, plant shutdowns, and undelivered inventory orders. This study addresses the supplier selection and order allocation problem for post-disruption scenarios by developing a mixed integer-linear programming model for epidemic disruptions. The proposed model of this study minimizes the loss of resilience in the presence of supplier fortification for multiple manufacturers, considering a mixed nature of recovery profiles to deal with disruptions. Further, the results are validated on small and medium dataset instances inspired by the Indian automotive supply chain scenario.
