Abstract
This entry offers an overview of several approaches to vice epistemology, highlighting different accounts of intellectual vices, and of what makes them vicious. It considers whether people can be responsible for their intellectual failings. It discusses the circumstances that favor the formation of vice and the effects of its prevalence. It considers whether, and if so how, groups can be said to be vicious. Finally, it details the views of some critics of vice epistemology and outlines some answers to their objections.
