Abstract
The “spatial turn” refers to the critical and sustained incorporation of the significance of “space” into a broad diversity of disciplines across the social sciences, arts, and humanities. This incorporation of the geographical dimensions of human life to critical inquiry has led to the integration of specific ideas about space to many subject areas. The widespread impact of the spatial turn has had significance for not simply how scholars approach their work but also has potential implications for how it may be disciplined in the future.
