Abstract
A bibliometric analysis of the field of microfluidics research is presented in this paper. Microfluidics is an important biochemical research field, supporting valuable chemical mapping tools. To better understand microfluidics research areas, this paper evaluates more than 6567 articles in the Web of Science Core Collection. The bibliometric method used in this study provides more detailed information compared to conventional software like VOSviewer. The results show the most important research trends in biology, medicine, and biotechnology. The papers also discuss the most significant recent research in the microfluidics field. The final section examines the combination of microfluidics and machine learning, discussing future opportunities. In conclusion, this study provides a thorough bibliometric review of microfluidics research along with an improved analytical approach that goes beyond standard tools.
