Abstract
The care of CYP with a long-term condition, such as congenital heart disease (CHD), demands that nurses rapidly develop clinical expertise and emotional resilience to provide empathetic, holistic, and evidence-based care. Newly qualified nurses, in particular, require strong support systems during their transition to practice to manage the emotional labour and stress inherent in caring for children with complex, long-term conditions.
