Abstract

Emotional labour is a significant aspect of children's nursing, especially when caring for children with acute or long-term medical conditions such as cystic fibrosis (CF). This chapter explores the emotional challenges nurses face, illustrated through a fictitious case study of a baby newly diagnosed with CF, and discusses coping strategies to support nurses’ wellbeing.
