Abstract

Worker organizing remains central to struggles for justice at work, yet its forms are evolving rapidly. From traditional unions to gig worker associations and transnational movements, collective action adapts to technological change, inequality, and global crises. This chapter frames worker organizing as both a historical tradition and an experimental frontier, highlighting how workers and unions innovate to sustain voice, representation, and industrial citizenship. It introduces the volume's empirical contributions, which explore diverse sectors, strategies, and contexts, revealing the challenges and possibilities of building solidarity and equitable participation in contemporary workplaces.
