Abstract
This video follows John D. Smith and paṛ artist Śrīlāl Jośī on a field visit to Sārdūl Siṅghjī’s memorial chatrī in Pārāsarāmpurā, Rajasthan. Moving between travel footage, haveli paintings, and detailed on-site discussion, it brings together living artistic practice and eighteenth-century ceiling painting, offering a compelling reading of visual narrative traditions. Along the way, the journey from Jaipur through Nawalgarh unfolds alongside visits to Roop Niwas, the Podar Haveli, and the Morarka Haveli.
