Abstract
The Quantum Enhanced Space-Time measurement (QUEST) experiment is a modern table-top interferometric setup designed to probe fundamental science signals, such as models of quantum gravity, scalar-field dark matter candidates and high-frequency gravitational waves. The work presented in this thesis has been a contribution to the development and commissioning of the QUEST experiment towards the first science run followed by operating the instrument during the run's data taking. Following that, work has been done towards upgrades and commissioning in preparation for the second science run. The experimental work took the shape of setting up the main power-recycled Michelson interferometers, implementing control loops to lock and operate them and operating, testing and commissioning all the critical apparatus involved such as the ultra-high vacuum systems, high-frequency data acquisition systems etc.
