Abstract
The effect of different lamination stacking configurations on the performance of single-phase, 50 kVA transformer cores is evaluated in terms of total power loss, apparent power and building factor. Transformer cores made out of consolidated stacks of electrical steels can be built 20–25 times faster than conventional cores, which is an important issue for many transformer manufacturers.
