Abstract

We have carried out a wide field survey to quantify the number of dwarf galaxies in different environments. We detect far fewer dwarf galaxies in all environments than standard CDM predicts. There is a large variation in the numbers of dwarf galaxies, with the richer environments having relatively more dwarf galaxies. We comment on explanations and implications.
