Abstract
Coherent dynamics measured by degenerate four-wave mixing are compared with incoherent population dynamics measured by differential transmission in InAs-based quantum dots at room temperature. The dots are embedded in an optical waveguide, that enhances the light-matter interaction length, and the measurements are performed using an heterodyne detection. Two different samples are investigated, with different confinement energies. The results reveal the elastic nature of the measured dephasing, which appears independent on the dot confinement energy.
