Abstract

The paper 'VLBI, MERLIN and VLA observations of the blazar 1156 + 295: a bending relativistic jet' was published in Mon. Not. R. Astron. Soc. 246, 305-314(1990). In that paper, we forgot to include the factor of 1/(1+z) to convert observed time intervals to time intervals in the frame of the source. The derived apparent transverse velocity should therefore be ~26 h^-1^ c as opposed to the originally quoted value of ~15 h^-1^ c, where H_0_ = 100 h km s^-1^ Mpc^-1^ and q_0_ = 0.5. We thank Professors M. Cohen and P. Veron for bringing this omission to our attention.
