Abstract
As a cost-effective alternative to the visual inspection method of machine oils, microwave cavity perturbation method is used in the assessment of machine oil quality. To prove the validity, new and used hydraulic oil and diesel lorry oil are measured and compared in terms of variation in real and imaginary permittivity.
