Abstract

A series of heterodinuclear complexes exhibiting both luminescent and anticancer properties is described. The photophysical and electrochemical characteristics and antiproliferative properties against cancer cells of the compounds have been reported, as well as the exploration of the possible interaction with DNA. Exploration of the mechanism of uptake of the complexes inside cells has been investigated using fluorescence microscopy and glucose transporter inhibition experiments.
