Abstract
Introductory presentation and workshop for staff and graduate students on critical realist approaches to evidence review and qualitative data analysis. The presentation draws on the example of breastfeeding peer support to illustrate aspects of a critical realist approach and what this adds. Learning outcomes; 1. To be able to describe basic underpinning principles of critical realism and to communicate relevance to intervention theory and intervention development. 2. To have preliminary understanding and some practical experience of applying principles of critical realism to evidence review and qualitative data analysis.
