Abstract

Abstract Background It was identified that a clinical assessment in practice the ‘in point assessment’ within the Nursing Undergraduate Programme was being interpreted in many ways which did not offer consistency, parity and fairness to students. To rectify this, lecturers from the Adult Nursing faculty and the Simulation Team developed together high quality videos for all years to access so that it was clear what was expected from the assessment. These video resources offered students an inclusive, innovative and authentic design and enabled co- production between academics and professional staff which was highly rewarding and has enabled further development of staff and sourcing even higher quality equipment for future projects.   Method A series of four 20-30 minute role-play videos were developed to address the assessment criteria which included assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care (year one), medicines management (year two, supervising and supporting learning & Leading , managing and coordinating care (year three ). Findings/ Discussions Students evaluated the resources by completing menti-meter polls and online survey forms and the feedback so far revealed the resources were valued and an effective way of learning. Conclusion This resource has proved to be invaluable for students to understand the criteria and content expected from their assessments related to clinical practice.
