Abstract

This lecture discusses the role and purpose of assessment in Higher Education and how these meet the learning outcomes and skills development of students. Grounded in language learner psychology, the lecture will facilitate discussion on who students wish to become in their second language ideal selves and how institutions can facilitate this vision in an inclusive way. The lecture will use persona activities to create discussion around inclusivity and accessibility of teaching strategies and assessment types and offer suggestions for further increasing accessibility.
