Abstract

Many children and young people (CYP) referred to Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) face long waiting times, which often increase stress for families and worsen mental health difficulties. However, research suggests that some young people benefit from just one therapeutic session. This project explores how a Single Session Intervention (SSI) could support children and young people while they wait for further help, or as a standalone intervention. This scoping review will explore what SSIs are used for mental health care in CYP aged up to 25 years, how they are implemented and the methods used to evaluate these interventions.
